I've been far away from my craft room for the past few weeks ... almost 3000 miles away in fact. While on vacation visiting family on the east coast, we celebrated Owen's sixth birthday. I threw together a very last-minute party at my sister's house the day we arrived (complete with a pinata that, apparently, wasn't the pull kind ... which was interesting to find out after the kids one-by-one pulled off every streamer with eager anticipation ... oy!). At least it turned into a cute photo prop =).
I figured since I didn't have my crafting stash, I could at least make edible cupcake toppers (inspired by my trendy cupcake toppers article) to throw onto his store-bought cupcakes.
Here's how to do it. Sketch out a mustache onto paper (or print out clip art) and top with a sheet of wax paper. Pipe out cocoa candy melts (I rigged up a sandwich baggie by cutting a small hole on one corner) along outline.
Then zig-zag up and down to "fill in". Once set, flip them over and "glue" a lollipop stick to the back with leftover melts. Be careful as these are of course fragile!
Then it's Mario time! Well, or Luigi time...
And with this post, I do have to wonder if I should submit to Guinness World Records for most mustache projects on one blog?
