As I was catching up on one of my favorite blogs, Be Different Act Normal, I was reminded of a candy corn treat holder I created for Parents.com.  You can download the free printable and view details here.

Which reminded me of a candy corn banner from paper plates I designed for bhg.com easy enough for kids to make.  I love banners and love candy corn =).

submarine lunch

It's been a very crazy start to the school year in the Storms household, and I have been making super simple lunches that I haven't bothered photographing.  But then I decided that everyone goes through busy times and might be looking for inspiration for quick lunches that still have a little personality.  

We had some leftover whole wheat hot dog buns, and I figured I'd use them up to make sub sandwiches.  Which reminded me of a card I made a few years back for Fiskars (paper-pieced by creatively cropping a speech bubble combined with a flower punch chopped of all but two petals).

So the sub sandwich turned quite literally into a sub sandwich with a simple cut straw.  I originally planned on having it sitting upright, but wasn't thinking how thick it would be once filled.  So it ended up on its side.  Of course I had to add a few Goldfish crackers.  And one in the blueberry "water".  

Super simple.  But kinda cute =).  And the kids got a kick out of it.

After doing lunchbox research this summer, I decided to go with the Easy Lunchbox system again this year.  The price and function fit well for our family.  I get a lot of emails asking about our lunchboxes so I wanted to add a link here ... easylunchboxes.com.  

halloween party

Are you ready for some more Halloween fun?  I am!  I just can't get enough of this fun holiday.

I designed a kids party for the Fiskars site that would incorporate some of the traditional Halloween icons in a not-so-spooky way.  Like witches stuck in sandwiches.

(I bet you won't be able to guess what punch I used to make the boots.)

And making spiders silly instead of scary on this spiderweb tabletop anyone can make with something you probably already have in your house. 

Or by giving them googly eyes.  Googly eyes can make anything cute.

felt leaves necklace for fall

And just like that ... school starts, summer's unofficially over, and fall is peeking around the corner.  So in honor of National Sewing Month, I created these fall necklaces for Fiskars.

I may have mentioned a time or a hundred that I am a lazy sewer and love working with felt so I don't need to worry about fraying, etc.  And it comes in such beautiful colors these days.  

My daughter is obsessed with jewelry (she comes by it honestly) so I plan on making several more pieces for her fall "collection" and will be sure to share the easy directions here.

Our crazy, busy summer is coming to an end as the kids begin school next week, and I'll have time to keep the blog updated with fun projects I have up my sleeve.  We have one final camping trip planned, so in honor I thought I would share links to two of my camping layouts from Scrapbooks Etc. magazine for some outdoor inspiration.

This layout features an easy tent border made from triangle punches.

And this one features "toasted marshmallow" letters for a fun title treatment.
