With my chevron obsession still growing daily, I decided to challenge myself to come up with ways to make my own chevron patterns using Fiskars tools. Here are the results!

Summer has finally arrived in Oregon, and with the warm temperatures comes lots of outdoor water activities including pools, sprinklers, and the current fave around here until it popped today - the slip 'n slide. My youngest was in a snorkling mask earlier and reminded me of a summer party I created a couple of years ago for Fiskars.
This is likely my favorite invitation of all time, and I've made a ton of invites. It just makes me smile =).

With the kids finally out of school, we are ready to focus on summer! I thought I'd kick it off with a new lemonade party I created for Fiskars. It's a great reason to have people over and a fun theme for decorating.
Fiskars sent me one of their brand new Fuse Creativity Systems which can die-cut and letterpress in one pass! I created this entire party using only one shape and design to showcase its versatility. You can letterpress and die cut:

While I'm on the subject of babies, I wanted to share a couple of additional ideas to add to the "shower" themed baby shower I designed.
I am often asked about centerpiece ideas for this shower, and here is a super sweet one I had featured in Scrapbooks Etc. magazine using child-sized rain boots. Directions can be found here.

With Easter on the way along with the birth of my newest adorable nephew, I was reminded of a baby announcement I made long ago that was featured on Fiskars' old website. If you are looking for a very creative announcement, baby shower invitation, or card for new parents, stock up on plastic eggs now while they are in stores.
1. Drill hole into each half of egg near center opening. Feed ribbon through holes and tie in a bow on outside of egg to create pretty hinge.
2. Use Ultra ShapeXpress with Ovals template on a cutting mat to cut out multiple eggs for interior pages. Cut photos (this size works well with wallet-sized photos) and formatted text from white cardstock. Format one oval to say "Just Hatched" and top with punched chick (this particular chick punch was a limited edition and no longer available).
3. Stack all ovals together and nest (pun intended) into egg and close to complete announcement.

Well, my team was knocked out of the playoffs this weekend, but I'm still excited for the Super Bowl commercials ... and food!

I had a problem with my addiction to using artificial grass carpet for just about everything, including the invitations! I'm also currently addicted to using jewelry boxes for invitations. I love not being limited to something that fits in a flat envelope. (The football laces are super quick to make using an unexpected punch.)

Cookie decorating is a fun party activity for any age or any holiday! It can also hold its weight as its own party theme. A rolling pin invitation, which fits into a standard business envelope, kicks the party off before guests ever arrive.
Not only does this theme take care of an activity, snack, and a take-home goodie built-in ... it's also just so *cute* to decorate with. Even down to the smallest details like these sweet cookie straws.
I created monogrammed cookie aprons from dish towels for the guests not only to keep them clean and to send home as a goodie gift for future use, but they make the party so adorable and become part of the decorations.
These monogrammed cookies were inspired by a layout I made for the December 2010 cover of Scrapbooks Etc. magazine, where I lined chipboard letters with puffy paint to mimic frosting.
